Mr. Stump has spent more than 40 years in the security field and is a highly sought after speaker and seminar leader to numerous security industry groups and a recognized expert in the field of educational security issues. Stump was twice asked by the White House to coordinate security for the Presidential Inaugurations in 1985 and 1989, and served on the Presidents Task Force on Security Standards and Goals. As the former Vice-President of Burns International Security Consulting Services, Stump has performed more than 200 paid studies of school (K-12) and university security issues.
Stump was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Award from John Jay College, alongside Dr. Henry Lee, of the Connecticut Crime Laboratory and has achieved the Certified Protection Professional from the American Society of Industry Security, the industry's highest honor. As a consultant, Stump has trained more than 5,000 security personnel including the security staff at numerous school districts in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York State.

Mr. Stump is a frequent speaker and author on school secure topics and has served as a contributing editor to industry publications including American School & University magazine, Campus Law Enforcement Journal, Journal of healthcare Protection, Club Management Magazine, Crowd Management Magazine, Amusement Business and others.
From 1980 to 1990, Mr. Stump served as a senior vice president to the country's largest private security agency where he was responsible for the educational market (K-12) where he supervised services to hundreds of public and private schools.
Mr. Stump was asked by the White House to head the private security efforts for the 1985 and 1989 Presidential Inaugurations.
Mr. Stump has been a paid security consultant to more than 1,000 diverse clients—including public school districts, colleges and universities, hospitals, Fortune 500 companies and professional sport franchises, including the New York Yankees, the Buffalo Bills, the New York Mets, Madison Square Garden, and the New Jersey Exposition Authority (Meadowlands).
He has provided training to numerous organizations and developed security manuals and protocols within many industries. In 1984, Mr. Stump received an award from the Security Industry Association (SIA) for his innovative design of CCTV cameras housed in baseball like housing, used at Yankee Stadium in New York.
As President of SSI Programs from 1992 to present, Mr. Stump has provided a variety of training and consulting services to schools throughout the United States. He has trained hundreds of schools security personnel and has conducted seminars and workshops for school administrations, board members and faculty.
During this time he also headed the school security consulting division and presided over major security consulting projects. Mr. Stump was appointed to the President's Task Force on Private Security—Standards and Goals in 1982 and served as an adviser to the U.S. Justice Department Private Security Council.
A noted expert on school safety and security, Mr. Stump was a charter member of the National Association of School Security and Law Enforcement Officials (NASSLEO), the leading professional association for school security administrators which now boasts a membership of some twelve hundred (1,200) members.
Stump has conducted school safety assessments for numerous public school districts and has designed school security programs for both public and private schools.
In 1996, after the tragedy at Columbine High School, Stump was asked by John Jay College of Criminal Justice to spearhead its efforts to provide training to school districts safety personnel through its Security Management Institute. This effort led to the development of a school safety curriculum and the training of more than 5,000 school safety agents from the New York City Board of Education.
Mr. Stump has served on the faculty of several colleges, including Iona, Mercy, Rockland Community, and has developed courses in security management. From 1978 to 1985, Mr. Stump served on the Advisory Board at the National Association of Trade and Technical Schools (NATTS) and its Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology, where he performed accreditation reviews and audits of members institutions.
Mr. Stump was with the Westchester County Parkway Police and left to join the New Rochelle Police Department, where he served as the Director of Administration and Assistant to the Police Commissioner. Mr. Stump also served with the Rockland County N.Y. Sheriff's Department where he was the Director of Public Safety for the County's five campus community college.
Mr. Stump holds the Bachelor of Arts degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York, where he also earned the Masters degree in Criminal Justice.
In 1977, Mr. Stump became the youngest person ever to attain the Certified Protection Professionals (CCP) designation from the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS).
In 1989, John Jay College awarded Mr. Stump its Distinguished Alumni Award.
